Rockstar Supernova

Woah... who would've thought that the pop classic Time After time by Cyndi Lauper could be sung in a rockstar competition... This is what happened after favorite Dilana took on the classic and made it her own in an accoustic performance... great

If ever there's one finalist of Rockstar: Supernova which really made an impact on me, it's Dilana Robichaux. Dilana's the heavily pierced South African who now resides in Texas. Beneath that tough exterior is such a true person... She's so totoo... unlike the others...

just listen to her riveting version of the Cranberries' and be mesmerized by Dilana...

rockstar: supernova

I sincerely admit that I'm not that rocker kind of fella. I mean, my song choices maybe eclectic and may range from mainstream pop to r&b to bossa and accoustic, my mp3 collection lack those rock hits from nirvana and others... It maybe due to the fact that I'm really not fond of those heavy guitar rifts, those manic antics and those screaming. In fact, I did not watch Rockstar: INXS last year because I'd rather listen to Carrie and Vonzell singing rather than watch the fellows. But now, I'm quickly becoming a fan of Rockstar Supernova... I mean, I was able to catch the pilot episode and I was really blown away by certain performances... which I would put in later... My bets for being the lead is DILANA... she has that attitude and that amazing voice which is so riveting, almost hypnotic...

It's currently on the third week of competition and so far: these are my fave performances

Dilana Robichaux singing Lithium by Nirvana

Man... Psychotic, Hypnotic, Riveting and Mesmerizing... damn, she started out wearing this hood and she just stood there at the beginning of the song letting the moment and the atmosphere to become so quiet, yet so tense as if her voice is the only thing that matters in the planet... damn...

Jill Gioia singing Bring me to Life in the results

Woah... After she screamed and screeched the song Violet during her performance night which earned her a bottom three performance, Jill again wowed us with her powerful rendition of Bring me to Life by Evanescence. Great vocal control, less screaming and just pure unadulterated singing... plus, fewer rock antics

Dana Andrews singing I'm the Only One by Melissa Etheridge

I've heard Nadia Turner from AI4 and Kellie Pickler from AI5 sing this song, but Dana Andrews' version is simply the best. Damn, when she started, I thought man, this is AI stuff but when she belted out the chorus part of the song... My jaw just dropped...

Dilana Robichaux singing Ring of Fire by Johnny Cash

For the second straight week, Dilana performed a subdued song but the stage presence is still there... When she starts singing, it asks you to just see her and let her voice melt you... damn..

Jill Gioia singing Piece of My Heart by Janis Joplin

Another song that I heard from AI the first time is Piece of My heart performed by eventual idol winner Carrie Underwood... But Carrie's version paled in comparison to Jill's performance of the song... whoo...

Storm Large taking on Pinball Wizard

Nice name.. Storm Large, and she's living up to her name with this hot performance...

damn, i'm so sleepy... tomorrow, i'm gonna be taking on the guys...

Birthdays and Rainy Days...

Whoo ! It's been almost a week since I last posted... and so many things happened... I was transferred from being a Yellow Grizzly to a Red Sting Ray. It happened because I shifted bands, thus my schedules won't mess with my former TM. Anyway, the new team manager Nana and her trainee, Biboy are quite fun, warm and funny. Also, they're not the plastic type of guys who proliferate the centers... But, I'm gonna be missing my former team, I mean, I'm one of the founding members of the Grizzlies, and I really consider my teammates as my family in the center... oh well...

Yesterday was my 20 + birthday... Yes... Another year has been added and I guess that I'm really turning old. Anyway, I cooked up some spaghetti with the usual meatballs and brought a round Ube cake from Red Ribbon despite the ghastly weather. However, I did not enjoy the day as the weather became so foul and all rainy. Wednesday saw me getting stucked in the house and not being able to work because of this storm... Damn. However, I made the day quite useful as I reread my Pugad Baboy Collection from PB 4 to PB 18 and I stayed up the whole day in bed just drinking hot chocolate and laughing over the antics of the Pugad Baboy Crew... Man, I idolize POL MEDINA.

MOOD: Tired but happy... It's payday... yeehaw... and tomorrow I'm gonna be getting hold of the Bench Magazine... hehehe... Also, Im meeting my blockmates from college for dinner... Whoo... really, really excited...

I'm Back....

Econspace is gonna be up and running again... After a really long hiatus, I'm blogging again... Well to sum up the past months, I'm currently on my 8th month of being a Directory Assistance Agent and I'm loving it. I love the work, the people, and my co-workers... Plus my team manager is the best... We're currently on the process of renovating our house and it's really, really looking great...

Let me give you my mix of favorite dance songs which I always play when I'm playing the pc... hehehe... just click on the links to open the videos

Nelly Furtado "Promiscuous"

Nelly's new image showed a sign of maturity and growth... Don't get me wrong coz I really love the rhythmic and folkloric Nelly Furtado and I really love the singles Powerless, Hey Man and Turn off the Lights. But with the release of the new album Loose... and with the new single "Promiscuous" and "Maneater", well it certainly shows that Nelly has a somewhat erotic and hot side... Hot...

Christina Aguilera "Ain't No Other Man"

Many hail that Christina's junior album, which is "Back to Basics" as the most awaited album of the year. Well basically, from what we're currently hearing as exhibited by the scorching hot single, this album is as hot as last year's the Emancipation of Mimi. I really love the soaring vocals and the upbeat synth and rhythm... So catchy...
and it's a great dance and diva song...

Shakira "Hips Don't lie"

Damn... the scorching hot single from Oral Fixation Vol. 2... I can't stop my booty from shaking my ass to this song... The beat is so erotic. DaMN ! I even memorized on how to dance that song... as usual... Shakira's haunting voice is kinda scary and overpowering at times but its tuned down by the rapper in the song...

Got to catch some zzz's... I havent slept for about 24 hours already... i fee like i'm jack bauer in 24... hahaha.. (1 - 100)
